The Hilton Head Island Rugby Football Club (HHIRFC) is joyously celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Marking a remarkable journey that has spanned five decades of sporting excellence, community involvement, and unyielding spirit. Established in 1974, the club has grown from humble beginnings into a well-respected team within the USA Rugby South Division 3.
A Legacy of Excellent on the Pitch and in the Community
Since its inception, HHIRFC has been a beacon of rugby prowess, drawing players from across the region. Our home matches see the sidelines filled with hundreds of fans, both locals and visitors to the island, cheering their friends and neighbors on the pitch.
The club’s commitment to representing our community doesn’t stop there though. Active and alumni players are involved in many charitable and professional activities around the community, and the club’s influence is visible in the numerous festivals and events that our island hosts.
Camaraderie
HHIRFC is more than just a rugby club; it is a community where lasting friendships and a sense of belonging are forged. The club’s ethos extends beyond the rugby field, with social events, fundraising activities, and community service playing a vital role in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. This strong sense of camaraderie has been instrumental in maintaining the club’s spirit and engagement over the decades.
